With the majority of women unhappy with their body shape or weight, and more men now wanting to control their increasing waistlines, there is a huge demand for effective weight loss programs. With this increase in demand there has also been a massive increase in 'Fad Diet' and 'Fast Weight Loss Diet' solutions that just don't work.
You go on the diet to lose weight, then go off the diet and regain all the weight back plus a few extra pounds! So it is on to another diet and the cycle starts all over again. Over the long-term these diets can actually make you fatter.
compare diet programs, weight loss hypnosis, la weight loss,
Many of these diets are designed for fast weight loss over the short-term, where you see great success as your weight on the scales gets lower and lower in only a few weeks. But in this instance that rapid weight loss is water and lean muscle, with only a minimal loss in body fat, meaning the long-term success of the diet is minimal also.
The problem we face is how to identify a diet as an effective plan to achieve our long-term weight loss goal.
Here are a few things to watch out for in diet claims that are not a wonder cure for weight loss:
Suggestions that the program is effortless Involves purchasing special pills, powders, liquids or special foods Says that there is no need for exercise Is very low in carbohydrates Only allows you to eat a limited range of foods Claims that you can eat unlimited fats or protein foods Involves the use of special vitamins, or passive exercise equipment
Here is why these type of programs just are not effective:
They limit many of the nutrients that your body needs for good health They can not be carried on for your lifetime to ensure long-term weight loss They can get very repetitious and become boring They do not teach you to make healthy and appropriate food choices based on your living circumstances When you go off these diets you gain weight / body fat again
There are no magic cures for effective long-term fat loss, it will take time and some effort. You have to achieve good eating habits with appropriate food choices that suit your circumstances.
So the truth about 'Fad Diets' and 'Fast Weight Loss' is that they do not work for the long lasting results and can actually make you heavier.
But the great news is there are programs out there today that will provide you with the education and guidance that will help you achieve fantastic eating habits designed with your long-term weight loss goal in mind, they are not Fad Diets and will require effort on your part. But for the long lasting benefits you will gain they are well worth your time having a look at.
